Write your awesome label here.
Sowa Rigpa Institute (SRI) was founded by Dr. Nida Chenagtsang, traditional Tibetan physician and internationally renowned teacher, scholar, and author.
Sowa Rigpa (གསོ་བ་རིག་པ་།) is the Tibetan language word for the traditional medical system of Tibet, translated into English as “the Science of Healing.”
We offer comprehensive and rigorous multi-year professional Sowa Rigpa practitioner trainings as well as non-professional workshops, courses, and public talks that promote self and community care.
Alongside our Tibetan medical educational programs we offer dharma teachings, guided meditation and yoga practices and intensive retreats in the Yuthok Nyingthig, the Vajrayana Buddhist spiritual counterpart of Sowa Rigpa.
Complementary studies in Tibetan language, mantra healing, Sache (geomancy), astrology and more support students in their ongoing study and practice of the rich healing and spiritual traditions of Tibet.
Sowa Rigpa Institute is part of a global network of centers, clinics, and educational institutes working together under the guidance of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang.
We make authentic teachings accessible worldwide through innovative hybrid formats that combine online education with in-person practicums at multiple locations internationally.
Our diverse international faculty brings together traditional Sowa Rigpa training, extensive clinical expertise, and varied professional backgrounds to support students globally, connecting with learners of all different levels and backgrounds.
In-person practical courses and retreats take place at Pure Land Farms and in collaboration with a network of Sorig Khang centers around the world.
Clinical internships and study abroad opportunities are available to our students in Kathmandu, Nepal.
Select courses are now available in Spanish language to better serve our Spanish-speaking community!
