About the Yogas

Nejang Yoga

Buton Rinchen Drup

Nejang (Tibetan གནས་སྦྱངས་) is a gentle healing yoga practice consisting of twenty four simple physical exercises which use breath work and self-massage to open the channels, balance the internal energies, relax the mind, and nourish the inner organs. With roots in the Kalachakra tradition, such exercises have been prescribed by Tibetan physicians for centuries to improve health and vitality and to support spiritual practice.
Nejang Yoga is suitable for all, regardless of physical condition and spiritual backgrounds and can support both meditation practice and self-care regime.

Lujong Yoga

Longchenpa

A unique Tibetan Yoga series compiled by the 14th century Dzogchen master Longchenpawas designed to allow the mind to rest in open awareness and realize our true nature. A natural progression from the gentle Nejang yoga, this dynamic body training program is more than just a physical practice. On an inner level, it primes practitioners for advanced meditations by removing obstacles and refining the mind. SRI's presentation of Longchenpa’s Lüjong series integrates Sowa Rigpa to support the organs and joints, and balance the inner elements for optimal physical and mental health.

Tummo Yoga

Yuthok Yönten Gönpo

Tummo Yoga, commonly called "Inner Fire" Yoga is the first of the Six Yogas of the Dzogrim Completion Stage practices of Vajrayana Buddhism. Its purpose is to gain complete control over all body functions resulting in health, bliss, and direct perception of one's true nature. Through the practice of meditation, visualization, breathwork and dynamic physical exercises, one purifies the ordinary body’s channels and energies, thereby transforming it into the deity’s body.

“What I love about Dr. Nida’s work is that it’s so real, down-to-earth, appropriate, courageous and straightforward. Learning and developing habits based on the self-knowledge inculcated by the practice of Nejang is a big step toward feeling better, more well, more capable, and more free. Start caring for your body as if it were one of the favorite stuffed animals you used to play with and cuddle with as a child! Enjoy this little book on Nejang, Tibet’s gift to you of a basic self-care operating instruction manual!”
